Privacy Policy – Emoji Diary

📋 1. Overview

Emoji Diary ("the App") is a personal mood-tracking journal developed by Medee Media. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use our App.

Short version: Emoji Diary stores all your diary entries and settings locally on your device only. We do not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on our servers. Your diary is private to you.

Data stored on your device

Mood selections (emoji) and optional text notes for each diary entry
Date and time of each entry
App preferences: notification time, theme setting (light / dark / system)
Notification on/off preference

Data we do NOT collect

Name, email address, or any personal identifiers
Location data
Device identifiers or advertising IDs
Usage analytics or crash reports
Any data transmitted to our servers (we have none)

No account required. Emoji Diary works entirely offline with no sign-up or login.

📱 3. How Your Data Is Stored

All data is stored exclusively on your device using AsyncStorage, a local key-value storage system provided by React Native. Data never leaves your device unless you choose to export it manually.

No internet connection is required to use the App
Data is not backed up to any cloud service by the App itself
If your device's OS backs up app data (e.g., via Google Backup), that is managed by your device settings, not by us

🗓️ 4. Data Retention

Your diary entries and settings are retained on your device for as long as you keep the App installed. We do not impose any automatic expiration or deletion of your data.

Since all data is stored locally, you are in complete control of your data at all times. No data is ever sent to or retained by Medee Media.

🗑️ 5. How to Delete Your Data

You can remove your data at any time using any of the following methods:

Use Settings → Export Data to save a backup, then use Import/Export options to manage or clear your entries.

Uninstall the App

Uninstalling Emoji Diary from your device permanently removes all locally stored diary entries and settings.

Clear App Data

On Android: Settings → Apps → Emoji Diary → Storage → Clear Data will erase all app data immediately.

🔗 6. Third-Party Services

Local Notifications

The App uses Expo Notifications to send local reminders on your device. These notifications are generated entirely on-device and do not involve any external notification servers or data collection.

Google Play Services

The App is distributed via Google Play. Google may collect certain device and usage data as described in Google's Privacy Policy . This data collection is outside the scope of Emoji Diary's own data practices.

We do not integrate any advertising SDKs, analytics tools, or third-party tracking.

👶 7. Children's Privacy

Emoji Diary is suitable for general audiences. Since the App does not collect any personal information from any user, there is no specific risk to children's privacy. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone, including children under 13.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.

For significant changes, we will provide a notice within the App.
